After surgery for a cleft lip, 13-year-old Antonio was finally permitted to attend school in Mexico. His success and the almost instantaneous changes in his life gave our founder, Dr. Donald Laub, the inspiration to help others through reconstructive plastic surgery.
Annual Report

ReSurge has been bringing hope to children and adults around the world for nearly 45 years, and in 2013 we reached an enormous milestone: our 100,000th surgery.

Over the years, ReSurge has continually evolved to improve access to reconstructive surgical care for the world's poor. This year we commemorate each of the 100,000 surgeries our volunteers and medical partners have performed, because each one of them has helped a young child or adult move away from a life of disability and estrangement to a life of possiblity, engagement and productivity.

To read some of our patients' stories and to learn more about our work of renewing health and empowering local doctors to increase year-round access to medical care in underserved areas, check out our most recent annual reports.
